Adding it here :)

"I think Most of us homeschooling go through similar doubts. I go through them every few months. But the one thing that I keep coming back to is my duty and responsibility as their mother. When I stand before God is he going to judge me that I didn't provide enough "opportunites" for my kids? He knows the world in which we live. We always have to keep in mind that above all we are the guardians of of children's souls!!!!!!!! So they might not get to do chemistry or whatnot but how does that compare in the light of Eternity? God has been very good to me. Every time I am at the end of my rope and don't think I can do this anymore, Seth will come home with a story about something that happened at school with one of his co-workers kids and it is a slap in the face for me and reminds me why I am doing this. I know some people think homeschooling is always the best way. I am not one of those people. I think it would be better for most kids to be in a good Catholic school. I think it is best for the family as a whole. But that is not usually an option. Because even if the school is good and the stuff they teach is sound you are still dealing with placing your kids young minds in a situation that is compromising for them. Catholic schools are still filled with kids who don't really know anything about their faith. It is not practiced at home. Your kids will run into class mates from families that are divorced and remarried, parents who are living with people they are not married to. Kids whose parents don't bother to take them to Mass on Sunday because they don't think it is important. It can be very confusing to a child when they see people living a certain way who call themselves Catholic and yet don't live according to their faith. Obviously following the Church is not that important if ALL these other people aren't doing it. Society's warped ideas of right and wrong is what we need to protect our children from. Especially when they are young and their consciences are being formed. You don't ask a soldier to fight in a battle without training. We can't send our kids into the world to fight for Christ until they are strong in their understanding of their Faith. i think homeschooling is a necessary evil in today's world. If you always keep the welfare of your child's soul in front of you some of these things decide themselves because there is very little options. Will the children miss out on things? Most certainly they will, But focusing on their true purpose here helps to remind us what life is all about.
I try to always remember to pray pray pray and when it comes to the good of their souls to err on the side of caution. because I don't want to stand before God and have to answer for exposing them to bad influences for the sake of opportunity."Heidihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01185792549179757757noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1114100604021261230.post-18809349940039780192013-05-09T07:27:14.391-07:002013-05-09T07:27:14.391-07:00What a fantastic list! I know I'm supposed to love that but I am not the Mom who can spend every moment with them. I need a nice solid break at least once a week. I don't have great nap times with N anymore so I am literally with them all the time, even dr. appts!

Mom's burn out if they dont' get time to recharge!!!!!!

I am having all those feelings now in our last week. I think I called the hubs yesterday crying and said something to the effect of "I will send her (Maggie) to public school just to have a break from her!" Maggie was giving me such trouble yesterday and I had had enough. But I know it's the end of the year and we are both tired and ready for a break:)Brendahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13423875819058806871noreply@blogger.com
